Kirsten Alting – Country with a Comeback
Kirsten Alting is a survivor, a storyteller, and a voice of hope. As a Dutch country singer, she blends raw testimony with authentic artistry—singing not just from her lungs, but from deep within her soul. Her music is living proof that even the darkest seasons can lead to light.
Her career began in 2014 with a breakthrough in gospel music: her debut single soared to No. 1 on the U.S. gospel charts, earned her a Top 10 Best Upcoming Artist spot, and a nomination for the prestigious Silver Dove Award. It was the start of a promising future filled with international stages and collaborations with top musicians.
Then everything changed.
Kirsten was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating connective tissue disorder. She lost her ability to sing, move, and even eat. She became bedridden, voiceless, and dependent on medical support. Doctors didn’t ask if she would die—only when.
But what followed was nothing short of a miracle.
She fought her way back—relearning how to sit, stand, walk, and eventually sing again. Her voice returned stronger than ever, marked by the grit of survival and the depth of faith.
While gospel will always be part of her DNA, Kirsten has embraced a broader path, stepping into the mainstream country and Americana scene with songs about life, love, heartbreak, healing, and hope. That shift has already made waves: her recent single Window of Opportunity reached No. 9 in the Worldwide Country Top 40 and No. 47 in the Top 200 Most Played Country Artists, right alongside legends like Willie Nelson, Blake Shelton, and Randy Travis.
She is currently working on her second album, Tell It Like It Is, a heartfelt blend of country, bluegrass, Irish folk, and real-life storytelling. The album features collaborations with Gordon Mote (pianist for Carrie Underwood and Alan Jackson) and Nashville multi-instrumentalist Wanda Vick, promising a sound that is both bold and unmistakably hers.
