Kirsten Alting is a survivor, a storyteller, and a voice of hope. As a Dutch country singer, she blends raw testimony with authentic artistry—singing not just from her lungs, but from deep within her soul. Her music is living proof that even the darkest seasons can lead to light.
In 2014, her debut single soared to No. 1 on the U.S. gospel charts, earning her a spot among the Top 10 Best Upcoming Artists and a nomination for the prestigious Silver Dove Award. Her voice captivated audiences worldwide, and her future looked unstoppable.
Then everything changed.
Kirsten was diagnosed with a rare and debilitating connective tissue disorder. She lost her ability to sing, move, and even eat. She became bedridden, voiceless, and dependent on medical support. Doctors gave up—but Kirsten didn’t.
What followed was a miracle.
She fought her way back—relearning how to sit, stand, walk, and eventually sing again. Her voice returned stronger than ever, marked by the grit of survival and the depth of faith.
Today, Kirsten is not just back—she’s breaking new ground.
While gospel music remains close to her heart, she’s expanding into the mainstream country and Americana scene, writing songs that speak to life, love, heartbreak, healing, and hope. Her mission: to reach both faith-based and secular audiences with authenticity and strength.
She is currently working on her second album, Tell It Like It Is, featuring a powerful blend of country, blue grass, irish folk and real-life storytelling. The album includes collaborations with Gordon Mote (pianist known for his work with Carrie Underwood and Alan Jackson) and Wanda Vick, one of Nashville’s most respected multi-instrumentalists. Together, they’re crafting a record that’s heartfelt, bold, and unmistakably Kirsten.
